"Adventure" for 13@rts

Hello lovely friends and followers!!

Today I will share with you a layout that I made inspired by a sketch from MCS desined by Liz Chidester. I wanted to play with my new mists, black gesso and paint that, sweet and generous Aida Domisiewicz sent me!!! So I have chosen to use blue, pink, bordeaux, black and silver! Here is the outcome.....

"Adventure"


The circles were done using black gesso!! And I am totally in love with the glitter silver paint!!! It also comes out in gold!!!! It is so easy to apply just by using a paint brush!! The look is really impressive!!

Mixed media canvas for 13@rts!!

Hello my friends!!!
Happy new year to all!!! Better late than never!!! I know that I have neglected my blog a lot lately but I have new responsibilities at the company I work for here in Greece which consumes almost all of my free/internet time!!! However I promise that whenever possible, I will do my posts and show you what I make!

Today I am sharing with you a mixed media canvas and a step by step tutorial on how to achive this look!
My goal was to be free and see what happens! This is the fun of mixed media right? And "art" is to express your self and feel liberated!


1. Start with background stamps. Randomly all over the canvas.

2. DON'T be afraid! Take your papers and tear them to pieces!!! Really liberating ;)

3. Select a nice stencil and apply Ayeeda modeling paste!

4. Add ribbon, trims, lace, whatever you like.

5. Misting time!!! I wanted some pink so I used an empty bottle and dropped some pink Ayeeda ink inside!!

6. If the colors are very intense, you can tone them down with gesso.

7. To add even more texture, apply some Ayeeda gel medium and spread some glass filler all over.

So, here is the final project...

One more guest investigation at CSI for the current challenge #99 and 13@rts!!!

And this is my take on the challenge!!

"Butterfly"

I have used the colors of the palette,
Evidence: Butterflies, fabric, floral
Testimony: Inspired by the word fly


Totally in love with all 13@rts mixed media stuff!!!



And the colors of Ayeeda mists....WOW!!!

Christmas is near - Scrapmatts

Hello my dear friends!!! Here is a little box that I made in order to put a Christmas gift inside!!
I Have painted the chipboard tree gold and spread some green paint randomly with my finger above it! I have also used two pieces of Christmas words!!
 And Here is a door hanger for decoration!! I have used the reindeer which was painted gold and then I added some red stickles and the tree was painted green with distress stain, after that I covered it with stickles and added some red stickles to look like ornaments! I have also used the Christmas word "I believe"!!!
I hope you give it a go and make your own gifts and decorations using Scrapmatts Christmas collection!!!

CSI #98 Guest detective!!!! - 13@rts 1st DT work!!!!


13 arts Guest Detective - Vicky Varvadouka

My name is Vicky Varvadouka, I am a happily married mum of two little girls (Nefeli 6 & Ioli 4) and I work in a big company in Greece . Scrapbooking is my passion and a way to express my self! I love the feeling of freedom every time I scrap! It is an emotional outlet and a routine getaway! I love it because I leave a legacy and a piece of my self to my children! I started making layouts in September 2010 and have been obsessed ever since. My kids are the main source of inspiration for my work and the primary subjects of my layouts. I am a person who loves to experiment with anything new so my style keeps evolving. My work has been published in scrapbooking magazines and I have been a designer for several challenge blogs, manufacturers and on line shops.
Interrogation
What is your favorite color(s) to work with? Happy bright colors!! 
What would you say is your "fingerprint" on your scrapbook pages? (i.e., what do most of your pages have that make it your signature style?) Misting and to be more specific, you will always see small color drops in all my backgrounds and I also love whimsical handmade embellies!
What do you find most challenging when working on a layout? What I always try to achieve is balance!!!! In both colors and design!!!
What is your favorite part about CSI--the colors, the stories, or the inspiration? The inspiration in general!! I find inspiration in all the clues! The photo, the colors, the theme...everything works together to bring out the best result!!
Confession time. Okay, fess up! What secret do you not want to admit but are willing to confess here?  I always feel intimidated when I am chosen to join a new team!
