Hi again everyone and welcome to a new challenge here at Once Upon A..Sketch. We are delighted to see so many of you embracing our sister blog Get Creative this month and playing along with our challenge as well as theirs. Its awesome to see how scrapbooking, which is JUST a hobby, can bring together so many people from all over the world. 

I hope you have been enjoying the challenges. Let's see what the next challenge is!

Journalling criteria/theme: HOLIDAYS/VACATION 

Have you printed out all those photos from your last holiday/vacation or most favourite holiday/vacation? We would LOVE to see them and hear all about it. With the theme of holidays/vacation for this challenge, we would love to hear about: your favourite holiday/vacation of all time or a favourite place you would LOVE to take a holiday in . Or how about the last holiday/vacation you went to?  Maybe you have not travelled yet? Then tell us about your DREAM HOLIDAY /VACATION destination. 

Remember that you are allowed to also create a card or altered project based on this sketch and theme and instead of the journalling criteria you need to use a quote. 

You must combine our journalling criteria/theme with this sketch.

"Yiota" - *My Creative Sketches*

I got grungy!!! *Scrap for Help*

Hello friends and followers!

Today I will share with you a special project!

 This is the first time I tried the style called "Grungy"...I got my hands dirty!!!

 As you might know, I usually make romantic, girly layouts filled with flowers and dreamy mood...

Well, with my mood hitting red during last month and growing stronger inside, through various, complicated situations, I got inspired and made this grungy composition. I just let my emotions go free all over the page..anger, passion,despair....sweetness...love...

I really enjoyed it, I love the result...I hope you like it too...it is made by my heart and soul and that's what matters the most...

p.s the quality of the dog's photo is not so good but I will replace it as soon as I buy better photo paper (Cannon-I was out and had to use HP) And of course I should mention that I was also inspired by the very talented Finnabair!

This layout is my example as a design team member for the challenge blog "Scrap For Help"!

This time, as a recycle item, I used surgery bandage (it's placed behind the photo), a bottle cap and a beer tin cap!

Don't you just love that cute little puppy????

To accomplish this look, you paint your chip. letters with black acrylic paint, you apply a thick portion of crackle accents. When it is dry and you can see the crackles, you paint it all red and wipe off right away with a baby wipe! The red color goes inside the crackles and...voila...magic happens!

 After that, you cover with glossy accents.

The vinyl cog  and heart are "Purple Pumpkin" 

The button with the mushroom is by "Eye candy magic"

The chip cog is Imaginarium designs and the red button is Purple pumpkin

This piece of paper comes from Cherry Nest and it gives the definition of a dog (like in a vocabulary).

Now...the initials "GLAC" is something I could never translate..I'm sorry...lol

OUAS & Get Creative sisterhood!!!

A few changes and surprises at OUAS this time...

Over at Once Upon A...Sketch, we are nearing the end of our first year and during this time we have noticed a huge amount of support from many countries around the world and we are incredibly lucky that our challenges are supported by so many people from all different parts of the globe. One of these countries is Greece, and we have come to realise that we receive many entries from such a small country where scrapbooking is so new, so we had a think and decided to team up with another challenge blog based in Greece and run by our very own Irini Liolia called Get Creative. How exciting!! We have decided to become "sister" blogs, because let's face it...most of us scrapping are women and is there anything stronger than a sisterhood? So for this month only, the Design Team from Once Upon A..Sketch are guests over at Get Creative and taking part in their 1st and 15th of the month challenges and the Design Team from Get Creative are guests on Once Upon A..Sketch! Thus a new bond is formed between 2 challenge blogs. 

Here is the sketch that the Once Upon A..Sketch Design Team had to follow. It is created by Get Creative Design Team member Elina Katechi. 

And here is my take on the sketch...

I did a lot of fussy cutting, distressing, misting, painting, punching...well, I had FUN!!!!

The happy colors and the angelic face of Nefeli, also helped my mood!

To make this cut below, I drew inspiration from Melinda whose style I love SOOO much!!!

Thanks Melinda...it is just a small cut...I was afraid to make something bigger..one step at a time...lol

The scissors chip is Imaginarium designs and the heart & button are Purple Pumpkin!!!

Below ID butterfly which I colored with Sakura pens and added blings!!!
